New Category... How exciting !

So I kind of let you guys on with a little hype about this post, I hope you enjoy it. For the past month I have been quite successful in selling in a new to me category...."clothing." More specifically pre-owned clothing. Truth is I love to sell pottery, collectibles and vintage but really there was some kind of economic stand still and my items in those categories were not moving. A girl got eat so I had to make moves, get things selling again.

I sat and thought for a long time (gosh it was a very long time). Then I opened up Terapeak and researched some numbers. It then became apparent what I always kind of knew, people can starve for a little while but they will never go nude!

I have a source of really cheap pre-owned clothing, I call it my favorite store. Its the local thrift and I volunteer there on Thursdays, well most Thursdays. Anyhow at this store smaller sizes don't generally sell well. The thrift store has piles of clothing size x small and small. Following the Terapeak numbers I decided to cherry pick all the pricy brands in these sizes. I listed the clothing way low using eBay actions and I have to report I have been doing very well. On average my profit per piece is $8 dollars, so I wont get rich fast but I will keep at it.

Listing clothing is fairly easy. Photographs are kind of simple with not too much to fuss about. Shipping is a breeze... tyvek envelopes y'all!

So try it I highly recommend it and you might like it....

Tuesday Book Sale wrap -up

Not bad for a vacation week; sold five books for a total $59.33 Profit. Most of these books came from my local auction. I explained before how I buy boxes of books there that no one seems to want. These "boxed lots" cost me $1 for about 5 plus books. The great thing is most of these books are 20+ years old, so there is always that potential out of print find!

Sorry about no photos today. Im doing summer camp and time is tight. Remember...
If you list it they will buy it!

Whoa! Been Gone but... Im Back!

cleencolla ebay
Sorry to all my followers and my non-committal readers.  i have had to take sometime off for my own peace of mind.  Good news is at one point I tipped the scale of listings in eBay and broke my personal record.  To some 200 items might not seem like much.  Take in to consideration that they are all "one-of"  and you realize... "that's a lot of writing my friends."

So now I am back and I have some great stories in the works.  Books have sold,  a few items have moved on etsy.  And my new category in eBay has taken off.  So stay posted, come back often and taken in your fill.  Properly Vintaged is still strong!

Flip Of the Week: Scandinavian Glass Pitcher

RARE IITTALA GLASS FINLAND ULTIMA THULE 50 0Z PITCHER TAPIO WIRKKALA
I had had this pitcher for a while, listed on etsy on the high side because I knew it was a sure sell.  It is quite beautiful, yet alas I have little kids.   So as much as my heart wanted to keep this piece, the practical me said, "NO!"
I found this  IITTALA THULE 50 0Z PITCHER at my fav thrift store.  I love glass pitchers.  I think it has a lot to do with growing up having had only plastic ones.  When I saw it I was intrigued by how it caught the light.  Then I picked it up and felt how light and delicate it was, I was sold.  I knew nothing of the brand or the design,  but I have been told I developed "the eye for quality."   I will now accept the compliment and give myself credit for having gained knowledge of well made items, countless hours reading and attending the auction has paid off.  The pitcher I paid $2 for and it sold for $76 shipping not included.  A great flip for me.
